A Unique Teen Volunteer Service Program
The Aspen Effect offers a unique volunteer service program for high school students in Douglas County who are looking for ways to earn required community service hours for graduation. This program is unique in significant ways…
Experience Resilience. Teens will learn the four elements of resilience (grounded, connected, protected and nurtured) and experience these elements while they work, spend time with the ranch animals, and connect with each other.
Unique Ranch Environment. Most monthly service activities will be held at the Happy Dog Ranch in Sedalia, where teens will be given the choice to work a project outside on the property.
More Youth Opportunities. Each month, we will share information about The Aspen Effect and invite the teens to participate in another one of our youth programs.
Free Lunch. Each youth will be offered a free lunch by Firehouse Subs during a lunch break.
No fee required. Donations welcomed! Limited number of youth to fill available slots each month. Most service events are on the fourth Saturday of each month throughout the year.
