Ranch Resilience Camp
Resilience is something repeated over and over in nature. A caterpillar turns into a butterfly after painful metamorphosis. A tree grows stronger to combat the wind and elements. So why not let horses and other ranch animals facilitate a camp to teach youth about their power to choose resilience? Why not allow mountains, open space, dirt trails and a herd of horses change kids’ ability to ground themselves, to connect with others for support, to protect themselves with boundaries, and to nourish a positive mindset and a focus on their future. This camp is all about helping kids to heal and thrive in a very unique classroom!
We are now enrolling a limited number of youth for a PILOT of this camp on July 19th from 8am-12pm.
Invitation: We are inviting both youth and parent(s) to attend the first pilot of this unique summer camp. Parents will be spending time with other parents experiencing the same activities as their youth are with other youth. Toward the end of the camp, parents and youth will join together for a beautiful “horse connection experience”.
Objective: We want to give both youth and parent(s) the same unique outdoor experience and resilience language that will help to sustain learning after the camp and help your family build a more resilient culture in your home together.
Expectation: You can expect to move around that ranch, interact with the animals, and participate in some fun and interesting activities that will help you become more grounded, connected, protected, and nurtured. Parents will have discussions focused on their own resilience and on their parenting role to help their children become more resilient. You are welcome to bring sack lunches and eat at the ranch after we finish at noon. The camp is free but we will require your feedback in a survey after you participate. A donation will be appreciated.
Minimum Requirements:
Youth age is 9-13 years old.
A parent (or parents) must participate in the camp along with the youth.
