DECEMBER 2024 EDITION
COLORADO GIVES DAY IS TODAY!
We need your support now more than ever and invite you to join us to help reach our goal of $25,000 (we are currently at $17,401). Your contribution will directly support our mission to create youth interactions that strengthen resilience and leadership skills in youth to help prevent mental health crisis. Right now, we are serving youth who are in and out of Denver Children’s Hospital with suicidal thoughts who have said coming to The Aspen Effect with a caring mentor and an animal connection is the only happy place they have. Please help us to prevent the rising youth mental health crisis occurring in our community!
Donate Today Between 10-11am or 7-8pm. Fifteen nonprofits will have a chance to win an extra $2,000 during Colorado Gives Day Power Hours. Be sure to give between the power hours of 10-11am or 7-8pm to help boost our chances.
Donor Sweepstakes. When you donate $100 or more on Colorado Gives Day, you’ll be entered to win a Southwest Airlines voucher ($400 value). One winner will be announced each hour. Plus, Colorado Gives Foundation will award one bonus round-trip ticket after midnight to a donor who gave $100 or more throughout the day.
Share Our Mission. Once you’ve made your gift, don’t forget to inspire others to join the cause by sharing why you are donating. Tag us on social media and use the hashtag #ColoradoGivesDay to share your story! https://www.facebook.com/theaspeneffect/ https://www.instagram.com/the.aspen.effect/
Thank you so much for your generosity and for being a driving force behind helping the next generation to thrive. Remember, no child stands alone. We couldn’t do it without you!
With Gratitude,
OUR NEW HOME
We recently moved to Happy Dog Ranch Horse Sanctuary in Sedalia at historic Jarre Creek Ranch, where horses and humans connect. We are thrilled with our new partnership that provides 117 acres of ranch set in a beautiful mountain setting, connection with a herd of over 60 magnificent horses, and an opportunity to grow with this wonderful organization! Our new, heated Youth Hangout is adjacent to the large indoor arena providing a perfect place for mentors and youth to “hang out” together. Look at the photos and videos below to take a virtual tour of our new home!
THE ASPEN EFFECT RECEIVES A COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
We were just honored weeks ago to receive the Ronald M. King Community Service Award from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Officer King was a deputy who died in 1999 serving in the line of duty and will always be remembered for his great love for the youth in our community. As this year’s award recipient, we hope to continue his legacy through our partnership with the sheriff’s office and our growing service to the youth of Douglas County.
