FIRST RANCH ROUNDUP!

The Aspen Effect was pleased to host its first Ranch Roundup on April 18 where Mentors and Mentees from the Ranch Mentor Club reunited at Happy Dog Ranch. Participants got to:

  • Make bird houses

  • Spend quality time with the animals

  • Reflect on lessons the animals taught them

FOR PARENTS TOO!

During the Ranch Roundup, we also hosted a Parent Circle discussion group in the Hangout, where they connected with each other and discovered ways to become more resilient and grounded.

Ranch Roundups will be held every third Saturday from April through September. We also welcome any high schoolers that would like to earn a few hours of community service.

RANCH RESILIENCE CAMPS

Come connect, breathe, and learn with us…starting June 6!

We invite BOTH parents and youth to register for this unique Saturday day camp, held twice in June and twice in August at Happy Dog Ranch in Sedalia. Through hands-on experiences with our incredible animal “faculty,” participants learn how to make healthy choices by staying grounded, connected, protected, and nurtured.

While these animals depend on ranch staff to care for them, they offer powerful lessons about something uniquely yours—your freedom to choose. Through their example, you’ll discover how to build resilience, strengthen your mind, and create a life rooted in intentional, healthy decisions.

June 6 & 27, August 1 & 29 at 8am-2pm

TEEN ADVISORY BOARD

Last week, TAE’s Teen Advisory Board stepped into the spotlight as they did a practice run of their upcoming presentation to Douglas County School Resource Officer command staff with TAE’s Board of Directors. The young leaders connected with board members as they discovered shared passions, career aspirations, and a genuine curiosity about each other’s journeys.
