We invite BOTH parents and youth to register for this unique Saturday day camp, at Happy Dog Ranch in Sedalia. Through hands-on experiences with our incredible animal “faculty,” participants learn how to make healthy choices by staying grounded, connected, protected, and nurtured.

While these animals depend on ranch staff to care for them, they offer powerful lessons about something uniquely yours—your freedom to choose. Through their example, you’ll discover how to build resilience, strengthen your mind, and create a life rooted in intentional, healthy decisions.

RANCH RESILIENCE TOURS

This month, The Aspen Effect hosted Erin and Deana from Wings Credit Union (formerly ENT Credit Union) at Happy Dog Ranch for a Ranch Resilience Tour.

At the end of the tour, they surprised our Executive Director Jerry Van Leuven with a generous check to support the work of The Aspen Effect. We are grateful for their genuine concern about youth and families in the communities they serve and appreciate their partnership!

Are you curious about our work with youth and families? Do you wonder how animals can serve as our faculty in teaching people how to get through hard things? These tours are a special experience for both youth and adult groups where we encourage participants to put away their phones, breathe in the fresh air and learn how to build resilience to life's challenges from the animals and ranch environment.

This role oversees the collection, organization, security, and analysis of organizational data while ensuring all digital systems function efficiently and reliably.

Local Parent Peer Coach - Do you have lived parenting experience in navigating the challenges of youth substance use and want to support other parents going through something similar?

We are also seeking a Part-Time Parent Peer Coach to support parents navigating the challenges of substance use prevention and family well-being. This position brings the unique perspective of lived parent experience into our parent support programs and helps strengthen our emerging substance use disorder (SUD) prevention curriculum.
